LPC, MFT, NCC

Often it’s the deepest pain which empowers you to grow into your highest self.” — Karen Salmansohn

I have gained so much in life with every step I have taken and every experience I have lived through. Some lessons left scars, but even those lessons opened new doors to my own evolution as a woman and as a human being in the world. I have learned that it is okay to not always be okay and that is where I’d like to extend my hand to you. It is my goal to create a safe space that you can come to and unload the heavy burdens of your pains and discover the best version of yourself so that you can move forward into your life with a peaceful heart and the belief in yourself that you can overcome all that has tried to stop you from living your best life. My role is to meet you in your darkness with a flashlight and help you find your way out. I am blessed to be able to live my purpose and genuinely believe that even that which has felt overbearing and dark in our lives can be used for good if we so choose to use the experience and grow from it.

I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling and follow a very client centered approach, meaning that I believe that we all have the ability to heal with the right support and guidance. When we can learn to unlearn all that no longer serves us and allow space to create new thoughts and improved behaviors, we change our lives. Healing can best occur through a holistic view of mind, body & spirit working together. What we THINK is what we FEEL is what we DO.

Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.” — Rabindranath Tagore

My Approach

Thought patterns are created just like physical patterns – by forming habits. Neuroplasticity is basically “the ability of the brain to change its structure and function in response to experience” (Sharon Begley, TIME, 2007).  The brain’s physical composition can alter in response to needs and experiences, which means that if you change your needs and experiences, you can change your brain.

Therefore, human beings have the ability to heal themselves and rewire the negative and unhealthy patterns of thought that seem to plague so many. When we are children we are learning from our caregivers and our environment who we are and how we are supposed to be in order to be accepted and loved. So what if our environment was not conducive to positive, healthy growth? We become adults carrying around baggage that does not serve any good purpose in our lives and contributes to a sense of dissatisfaction with ourselves, others and life as a whole. It is my job to meet you where you are, and together create a personalized plan of healing and wellness tailored just to you based on your individual needs.

My Values

I believe in a holistic approach to wellness; Mind, Body & Spirit. We must integrate all three components when we talk about whole healing and well-being because each part works together as the whole; like a fine tuned machine runs smoothly, so do we when we can bring ourselves into complete harmony. I am a spiritual woman who has witnessed the power of Faith over and over again in my life and in the lives of my clients.
